Save your precious diamond!

Gary the Raccoon was having a great day, eating trash and taking naps. But when the big corpo sent out its major drill to scrape everything that was left in the ground, he did everything he could to save it!

A puzzle-platformer against a Drill!

In Countdown Drill Panic!, you have to get to the diamond and make it fall down before the drill does. The drill progresses by 1 tile per second. The drill takes more time by going through dirt and stone blocks.

Use the shovel, the pickaxe or the bomb to dig holes, and the metal box to slow the drill down.

Bonus: pick up the apples to add more challenge to the levels. Gary loves apples!

How to play

• WASD / ZQSD to move Gary the Raccoon
• Space to jump
• Touch an item to pick it up. You can only hold one tool at a time. If you pick another tool, you lose the one you were holding. Apples are not tools.
• E: use an item
  • Shovel: dig a hole in dirt tiles next to the tile below you
  • Pickaxe: dig a hole in dirt or rock tiles immediately in front of you
  • Metal box: place it in order to add resistance against the drill. You can pass through it
  • Bomb: place it to blow off all the surrounding tiles. Beware: bombs hurt Gary!

The theme of the GMTK Jam 2026 is "Countdown". That's why we decided to make a platformer against a moving countdown, represented by the drill. The countdown is only visible by the distance of the drill from the diamond. But this countdown can be delayed or even used as a platform. We hope you enjoy it!
